Cyclonic is an audio recorder for Android. This policy explains what the app accesses, where recordings are stored, and when information can leave the device.
Microphone recording uses Android's microphone permission. Internal-audio recording uses Android's MediaProjection consent screen and Audio Playback Capture APIs. Cyclonic captures audio only after a user starts recording. A foreground notification remains visible while recording and provides a stop-and-save action.
MediaProjection permission does not allow Cyclonic to bypass protected content. Source apps and digital-rights controls can prevent internal-audio capture.
Recordings and editing output are stored locally in Cyclonic's app-specific storage. Cyclonic retains up to 24 recent recordings and can remove the oldest recording when that limit is exceeded. Users can delete recordings from the recordings panel. Uninstalling the app removes recordings that have not been exported.
Android cloud backup and device-transfer backup are disabled for Cyclonic's recordings and app data.
Cyclonic does not automatically upload recordings. A recording leaves the app only when the user explicitly chooses Share or Export and selects another app or service. The receiving app or service applies its own privacy policy. Audio trimming and format conversion performed by Cyclonic occur locally on the device.
The optional Cyclonic Pro upgrade is processed by Google Play Billing. Cyclonic receives purchase status and a purchase token needed to unlock and acknowledge the purchase. Cyclonic does not receive or store payment-card or bank-account details. Google processes purchase information under Google's privacy policy.
Cyclonic has no advertising, analytics, account system, location tracking, contact access, or developer-operated server. App preferences, such as recording format and whether the recording notice was accepted, remain on the device.
Cyclonic is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Users must comply with applicable consent, privacy, and copyright laws when recording or sharing audio.
